Project and Maintenance Support Manager

The Project/Maintenance Support Manager will operate within the organizational structure to provide engineering and maintenance support and oversight for APM. This person will interact with staff locally and globally, will be knowledgeable of the project and maintenance systems as well as corporate requirements for APM. They will lead a group of professionals and provide direction toward meeting departmental and business goals including providing support 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Responsibilities:

-Abides by procedures/policies regarding security.

–Lead role in the management of the site project portfolio including cost control and planning activities for the projects from initial scope development through to implementation, including detailed design, construction and commissioning.

–Manage and report on the annual Capital Expenditure Plan (CEP) in line with agreed budgets and ensure strict cost control and effective management of resources.

–Provide department procurement and contract management expertise, giving advice, keeping up to date on appropriate developments, auditing and ensuring that these standards are maintained.

–Development and preparation of relevant project plans and cost control systems as befits a project within a complex site.

–Defining and monitoring relevant project steps to milestones to ensure activities are performed as planned and taking corrective action as required.

–Ensuring detailed planning of projects with respect to time, resources and cost monitoring throughout the project life cycle.

–Reporting on status and progress to leadership as appropriate.

–Contribute to the development and implementation of relevant policies and procedures.

–Provide training and coaching support as required to ensure the continued development of staff.

–Demonstrating a proactive approach towards SHE management (risk assessments and HAZOP.)

–Cost control and forecasting of Maintenance spend activities.

–Manage 3 year rolling CEP Plan, aligning with LTE, LTO, Supply/Demand process and sustainability roadmap.

–Support negotiation of vendor pricing and support contracts.

–Project Managers – Project Cost Estimate, Capex Budget & Forecasting, Planning/Scheduling and Process Control & Forecasting, develop business case documentation

–Site Controller – Regards to Budgeting, Forecasting Capex and Maintenance Spend (monthly), Support to Asset Account (Capital & Expense) and Finance Audit, support business case development.

–Site Management Team – Regards to Capex Requests and Approvals and Capex reporting

–Maintenance Manager and Supervisors – Maintenance Activities/Estimates, Planning/Schedules and Cost Control/Forecasting.

–Contract/Procurement Departments – Contracting and Procurement Planning (Capex Projects).

Experience:

–MS in a technical field plus 5 years of relevant experience or BS in a technical field plus 7 years of relevant experience or AAS with 8 years of relevant experience or 9 years of relevant experience.

–Have a track record in the management of a project portfolio ($1-10 M), preferably chemical or mechanical sector and a minimum of 5 years relevant industrial experience.
