Opportunity to join a chemical leader as the Subject Matter Expert for the site PSM program. Develop the strategy and goals for the Process Safety Program to meet regulatory compliance requirements as well as mitigating risk.
Primary Responsibilities:
–Improve OSHA PSM programs and initiatives for the site to meet regulatory requirements.
–Maintain and utilize industry leading PSM metrics including API-754 events, Safety System Functions, MOC and PHA recommendations tracking, ensuring visibility to drive performance.
–Support site Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA).
–Lead and follow-up on effective Root Cause Analysis investigations of operational events and PSM incidents, ensuring appropriate, timely and effective corrective actions. Develop expertise in FMEA, Hazop and/or Fault Tree analysis.
–Serve as the Subject Matter Expert and oversee the site MOC and PSSR programs, providing direct support and expertise in the process.
–Develop short and long-term PSM objectives, targets, strategies, and measures that prioritize and mitigate risk.
–Execute against a developed annual H&S and PSM plan using a systematic approach with effective and transparent measures.
–Maintain detailed connection to the operating units, maintenance activities, and project engineering such that risks and projects are understood.
–Coordinate with site contacts in the collection, maintenance and management of site Process Safety Information, ensuring easy access for use and inspections.
–Work collaboratively with Corporate EHS/PSM team and other sites to develop the overall capability, driving for best practice and consistency.
–Build knowledge and expertise in plant systems to drive progress, change, repairs, and solutions to day-to-day problems and challenges. Remove barriers to progress.
–Work with the site reliability team to ensure required inspections are scheduled, coordinated with outages, conducted, records kept, findings understood and addressed per expert recommendations.
–Coordinate with the Environmental Lead on site RMP program elements ensuring adequate controls for worse case and alternative case controls and compliance assurance.
–Maintain and ensure an effective PSM training capability and robust employee involvement in the PSM program.

–BS Chemical Engineering degree with 3+ years experience in Process Engineering dealing with PSM regulations and compliance in chemical, refinery, pulp & paper or related plant sites.
–Experience with PHAs, LOPAs, FMEA, HAZOP, Fault Tree analysis, MOC, and PSSR programs.
–Good computer skills, MS Office, and some database exposure
