Responsibilities
—Lead the mechanical engineering efforts for capital projects, from initial scope development through to construction and commissioning.
—Develop detailed project scopes, equipment specifications, and design requirements.
—Specify and oversee the selection of static and rotating equipment, including vessels, tanks, pumps, and piping systems.
—Review and approve engineering deliverables from EPC firms, contractors, and vendors.
—Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including process, piping, electrical, controls, and construction.
—Identify potential project risks and propose effective solutions.
—Ensure all designs adhere to safety, reliability, constructability, and maintainability standards.
—Contribute to the development of engineering standards and support Management of Change (MOC) and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) activities.
Experience
—Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
—7-10 years of experience in mechanical design and project engineering within chemical, petrochemical, or advanced manufacturing environments.
—Proven experience leading EPC firms, engineering contractors, and equipment vendors.
—Extensive knowledge of industry standards such as API, ASME, and ANSI.
