Career opportunity to join an expanding Technical Services Group with global chemical leader in Eastern North Carolina. Responsible for providing technical support to operations and customers; participating in product, process and equipment research and development; analyzing and implementing data-driven initiatives from laboratory, pilot plant to scale-up; and ensuring QA of products and materials.

Responsibilities:

— Support the development of new and novel products and optimization of existing products. Responsible for the coordination and execution of bench-top, pilot, manufacturing scale-up and verification batches with speed and robustness.
— Provide workable solutions to highly complex formulations, technical challenges, and troubleshooting.
— Applies scientific and engineering principles for research programs involving product development, processing, manufacturing technology, quality control and packaging.
— Manages projects and maintains constant communication with cross functional groups to drive projects from concept through commercialization.
— Responsible for documentation to ensure the consistent manufacture of new products; including batch records, production instructions, validation and stability protocols.
— Works with Quality Assurance to ensure all product documentation is written, stored, and approved for commercial manufacture; includes material specifications, material CoA’s, product specifications, cleaning requirements, method validations, etc.
— Maintains accurate records of all development projects.
— Prepares technical documents such as raw material and bulk specifications, SOP’s, manufacturing batch records, technology transfer documents and any other relevant documents in the development and commercialization of the products.
— Conducts research to develop new and improved manufacturing processes.
— Designs and plans the layout of equipment.
— Conducts tests and monitors the performance of processes throughout production.
— Troubleshoots problems with manufacturing processes.
— Evaluates equipment and processes to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

— BS Chemical Engineering degree with 6+ years in combination of technical service, product/process development, processing laboratory techniques and regulatory requirements in minerals, chemical, and/or food science industries.
— Proficient in LIMS, MS Project, AutoCad, MS Excel, Word.
