— Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (Chemical Engineer preferred).
— Significant experience in operations, including supervisory of hourly workforce.
— Prefer 3-4+ years of supervisory experience and 8+ years of overall industry experience.
— Relevant industry experience which includes food ingredients, corn milling, pharmaceutical ingredients, chemicals, refining, biofuels or related “process” environments. Knowledge of regulatory policies including GMP, quality and safety a plus.
— Sound knowledge of manufacturing operations and processes and experience driving Continuous Improvement. (Lean Six Sigma or others)
— Track record of positive career progression.
— Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to mentor and motivate an hourly workforce.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
— Responsible for managing the Production Unit in all aspects of EHS which includes Environmental reporting, incident investigation, and supporting process safety initiatives.
— Driving operations and maintenance activities to meet Unit KPI’s including but not limited to Safety, Quality, Cost, Production, Energy Conservation and Site Sustainability Efforts.
— Recommending capital expenditures and process changes necessary to maintain and improve business efficiencies.
— Prioritizing maintenance needs of the unit, to participate in the process of optimizing maintenance staffing and utilization throughout the plant.
— Monitor raw materials inventory and usage.
— Identifying area’s for improvement utilizing Continuous Improvement methodologies.
— Manage and discipline the hourly workforce in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement and in line with Plant Rules.
