Great opportunity to join an expanding global chemical company as the Plant Project Engineer. As part of the engineering group, you’ll handle multi-disciplined projects and process improvements; mechanical, chemical, electrical, process control, and automation across the site.
QUALIFICATIONS:
— BS Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years experience as Project Engineer in chemical, pulp & paper, or other PSM regulated plants.
— Solid experience handling plant level cross disciplined projects including mechanical, chemical, electrical, process control, automation, etc.
— Knowledgeable of chemical plant unit operations including reactors, distillation, separation, heat exchangers, piping, instrumentation.
— Able to work in the USA without sponsorship, now or in the future.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
— Identify and implement process improvements projects as well as plant upgrades
— Specify equipment, piping, instrumentation, motor controls, hardware, and software
— Schedule, coordinate, and direct internal and external craftspeople on installations and modifications required for projects
— Effectively manage project schedules and budgets
— Handle budget project costs and timelines
— Create process flow diagrams
— Review and mark-up technical drawings, including dimensional drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, ladder logic, etc.
— Involve and work collaboratively with subject experts internally and externally
— Create & maintain organized project details utilizing ERP systems
— Troubleshoot equipment and processes when outside of Operations or Maintenance capabilities
— Perform root cause analysis (RCA); provide solutions to prevent recurring failures
— Maintain and manage safety device and NDT records
— Develop and write procedures as needed
