Qualifications:
— BS Electrical Engineering degree with 8+ years experience as Plant/ Project Engineer of electrical, power distribution, and instrumentation in chemical, petrochemical, pulp & paper, or related plant environments.
— US Citizen or Permanent Resident (green card) is required.
— Must be knowledgeable of plant safety and environmental policies and procedures and regulatory compliance criteria.
— Ability to obtain registration as a Professional Engineer in Florida is desired.
— The ability to utilize personal computers and other computer aids is essential.
— Must become familiar with quality improvement, “teaming”, empowerment, and statistical techniques and skills.
Responsibilities:
— Prepare engineering scopes of work and cost estimates in response to engineering request submitted by other departments.
— Manage capital projects with responsibilities including: detail design or supervision of contract engineering services, cost control and reporting construction management including plans, organizes, and controls contractor resources, schedules and management status reports, prepare purchase requisitions and bid analysis, and manages startup and training.
— Function as a technical advisor and/or a team member to Operations and Maintenance Employee Involvement Teams.
— Insure all projects under supervision complies with all environmental and safety rules and regulations.
— Perform field quality inspections of project construction and plant equipment which requires the ability to climb ladders, stairs, or inclines; walk on irregular surfaces; and lift moderately heavy parts and equipment.
— Utilize project management and problem solving skills.
— Lead / participate in RCAs (Root Cause Analysis).
