Great opportunity to join a global chemical industry leader as the Site Lead Instrument, Controls, and Electrical Technician. Requires extensive technical background performing measurement, reliability, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation processes/equipment. You will locate, inspect, diagnose, and correct complex electrical systems, control problems, calibrate instruments, and distribution control systems.
— Work directly with engineering and plant management to scope process improvements, expansions, and or replacements of legacy instrument, controls, and electrical systems.
— Ensure proper operation of all control system components to include: electronic components, valves, switches, DCS and related I/O modules.
— Perform measuring and testing (ex. Ammeters, voltmeters, transducer, calibration devices) to install equipment or replace/repair existing components.
— Inspect, test, and calibrate meters, indicators, gauges (such as flowmeters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers) to detect abnormal fluctuations.
— Troubleshoot instrumentation transmitter problems from the transmitter, the control loop and the PLC hardware where the devices output is read by the PLC.
— Proficiently use Rockwell software including RSLogix, FactoryTalk, RSView, VMWare.
— Troubleshoot/ configure the site AC inverters (Allen Bradley and PowerFlex).
— Troubleshoot field control wiring from 120 vac, 24 VDC, to milivolts and miliamps.
— Understand and safely troubleshoot the sites 480 vac power distribution system to include transformers, switchgear, MCC’s, isolated control panels and lighting and receptacle panels.
— Troubleshoot Control Network communications issues to include Ethernet, Ethernet IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Data Highway, Data Highway plus, Remote I/O, RS232, and RS422 serial communications.
— Trace plant wiring and draw it in a proper format to have drafting make an electronic copy for plant records.
— Install pneumatic, electronic, and instrumentation equipment.
— Perform electrical installations, repairs, and service equipment per NEC codes.
— Assist with planning layouts, running conduit, wiring and tubing for new and existing installations and developing and carrying out preventative maintenance programs.
— Work in a Computerized Maintenance Management System for work order tracking, time entry, parts procurement, etc.
— Associates or Technical Degree or BS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years experience with instrument & controls and electrical distribution (troubleshooting, programming and maintaining) in chemical, pulp & paper, or related PSM plants.
— Solid knowledge of control systems, valves, motors, and instrumentation/ concepts of flow, level, pressure, and temperature
— Experience with DCS/ PLC platforms, computer operating systems, networks/ configure and electronic information handling (Allen Bradley/ Rockwell Automation/ Ladder Logic)
— Support compliance efforts of ISO, PSM, OSHA and National Electric Code (NEC)
— Able to work various shifts, irregular hours, emergency call-ins and Overtime as needed
— Able to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future
