Job Description

Provide critical, complex risk management and loss prevention support to the AMS Region. The position supports the success of the company through development of standards and strategies to ensure that process and operational safety risks are successfully managed and that the incumbent performs their duty in accordance with the principles of Responsible Care and the company HSEQ Policy.

 

The main responsibilities include the Process Safety Program:

 

— As part of the Global HSEP Team, lead federally mandated OSHA PSM and EPA RMP audits.

— Incident Investigation and reporting of HSE KPIs, Monitor Site Compliance Status, Update/refresh of POSM requirements

— Developing and Manage Tools, Guidance, FAQs, codes/standards, websites, subscriptions, admin of tools. Includes ID of new tools, issuing alerts/updates

— Conduct Training and Workshops in Process and Plant safety and work processes in chemical operations for plant managers and site teams

— Provide technical expertise and guidance to BUs and sites w/r/t process safety regulatory compliance, especially to plant managers. This includes, but is not limited to further development and maintenance of the POSM requirements and all related documentation.

— Monitor upcoming changes to process safety regulations and convey updates to BUs/sites as appropriate

— Conduct or participate in select safety-related reviews when requested or when appropriate

— Loss Prevention Program:

— Monitor jurisdictional inspections for NA sites

— Update and communicate NAFTA business continuity guidance

— Monitor site, BU, and GF business continuity and emergency response planning

 

Qualifications

 

— BS Degree in an engineering or scientific field (advanced degree preferred)

— Previous leadership experience

— Project Management experience required.

— International experience is of advantage

— Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.

— Senior Expert/Specialist that is well versed with in depth knowledge of U.S. OSHA and EPA process safety requirements, as well as, Company Directives and related process safety requirements

— Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills or experience.

— Professional license and/or registration preferred;

— Exceptional analytical and problem solving capabilities

— Previous experience in a manufacturing or plant environment preferred.

— Strong written language comprehension and interpretation abilities

— Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

— Previous management experience in a team setting preferred; global management interaction experiences a plus, along with the ability to successfully interact with extremely diverse personnel.

— Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills addressing issues that can have a large degree of complexity

— Excellent business and industry acumen

— Capability for forward and innovative thinking.

— Familiarity with other HSE aspects (i.e., occupational safety, distribution safety, product safety/regulatory affairs, management systems, crisis and incident management, security)

— Training and experience as a Lead ISO/RC auditor;

— Leading/Training plant managers w/r/t complex regulatory requirements

— Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the chemical industry; specifically the company business operations and processes or similar.
