Join the Maintenance/ Technical team of a world class chemical leader as an Instrument and Electrical (I&E) Engineer with plant level responsibility for power distribution (medium to high voltage, transformers, substations), controls (PLCs, HMIs, DCS), and instrumentation. This position reports to the Superintendent, Maintenance & Engineering. RESPONSIBILITIES:

— Work with all levels of Electrical/ Instrument Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering in providing the highest quality maintenance and engineering services

— Serve as Engineering support for E&I Maintenance Department in performing preventive maintenance (PM) and repair activities for critical plant equipment

— Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing, conducting research programs, and applying knowledge of electricity and materials

— Provide technical support/ troubleshooting for the plant instrument and electrical equipment

— Provide solutions to recurring maintenance problems by analyzing delays and failure analyses

— Confirm system and component capabilities by designing testing methods and testing properties

— Support manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components; soliciting observations from operators

— Work closely with area personnel in developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs

— Lead the implementation of technical improvements and the application of spare parts and materials to extend life and prevent equipment deterioration

— Assist in the planning and implementation of turnarounds and major engineering projects and support the project leader in all phases of major capital projects

— Assist in the preparation of maintenance and capital budgets

— Identify and interface with preferred equipment manufacturers, specialists, and technical support consultants

— Develop and maintain job plans for specific repair activities and support site planners and supervisor, as required

— Develop, maintain and update maintenance documentation (e.g. Repair reports, bill of materials, upgrade recommendations) for critical plant equipment)

— Assist Predictive Maintenance Technicians with analyzing and condition monitoring data interpretation and recommended actions

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

— BS Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited university, with 5+ years of experience in power distribution, control, and instrumentation for heavy industrial, chemical, refinery, pulp & paper, mining plant operations

— Knowledge and experience in the troubleshooting of medium to high voltage power distribution, large rotating equipment, motor controls, and programmable logic controllers

— Familiarization with MSHA, OSHA regulations, National Electric Code (NEC), ISA Standards and International Codes

— Knowledge of project management: budgeting, planning, scheduling, and cost control

— Able to work in the USA without sponsorship, now or in the future.
