Great opportunity to join the Engineering Team with global chemical client in Augusta, GA. As the Chemical Plant Controls Engineer, you will resolve problems and complete projects aimed at optimizing existing control schemes, reducing manufacturing cost, improving quality, increasing safety, and assisting in design of new facilities.

Qualifications:

— B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years Controls Engineering experience in chemical, petrochem, refinery, pulp & paper or related process industry plants. Must have plant level experience of PLC, DCS controls systems.
— US Citizen or Permanent Resident (green card) is required.
— Continuous Improvement experience.
— Extensive knowledge of PLCs and DCS – Honeywell, Emerson, Siemens, etc.

Responsibilities:

— Monitor and maintain the Site DCS and Safety System performance.
— Evaluate BPCS and SIS layers of protect taken from LOPA and develop safety requirement specifications to support layer of protection requirements.
— Evaluate existing controls/safety functions and unit operations to improve operating efficiency and rate, product quality, on-stream factor and economy.
— Develop and make recommendations for new control designs and/or modifications for areas to ensure maximum operating efficiency, return on investment, and meet safety standards.

— Provide construction and commissioning support of instruments and control systems for capital projects.
— Involved with project implementation by providing accurate, timely and thorough design input and specifications/design review by facilitating close coordination and communications with area personnel.
— Provide support to Operations on operating problems and to Maintenance Engineering on equipment performance and controls problems.
— Provide technical support for all the site operator training simulators. Promotes and actively participates in Behavioral Safety Process and Environmental Stewardship activities.
— Represent the Site for any instrument or controls guidance and seminars to support the Corporate Maintenance and Reliability Committees.
