Great opportunity to join an expanding global chemical client as the Production Manager, who will lead the Operations/ Production team. Requires a BS Chemical Engineering degree + a solid technical background in chemical reactions as well as, process optimization, product scale-up, plant safety (PSM), environmental compliance, and plant production. Must have strong leadership skills and proven success in developing and managing team based initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
— Manage the Production Operations Team, ensuring the safety, quality, costing, and product output meets the site budget and timelines.
— Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems; analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports, to detect production problems.
— Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments.
— Initiate and coordinate inventory and cost control programs.
— Prepare and maintain production reports.
— Set and monitor product quality standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure the quality of finished products
— Develop and train production team, supporting ongoing improvement initiatives
— Develop budgets and approve expenditures for supplies, materials, and labor
— Implement and maintain compliance with plant safety and environmental programs (OSHA, PSM, EPA)
— Partner with the R&D Process/ Product Development team as new Products/ Processes are rolled out for scale up in the plant
QUALIFICATIONS:
— BS in Chemical Engineering with 8+ years experience in Process/ Production Management in batch chemical manufacturing plants
— Experienced with PHA, PSM, OSHA, and environmental regulations
— Solid understanding of supply chain and raw material quality/ availability
— Ability to work in the USA without sponsorship, now or in the future
