Summary
Opportunity with an expanding chemical leader as the site Chemical Engineer. This candidate will support day-to-day plant performance by focusing on equipment reliability, production efficiency, and long-term asset health. As the Production Engineer you will help identify risks early, reduce downtime, and improve overall plant performance. This position works closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to keep production running safely and consistently.
Responsibilities
— Own the performance and reliability of assigned production assets
— Identify risks that could impact safety, uptime, or long-term operability and help develop mitigation plans
— Use production and equipment data to spot trends, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities
— Support root cause investigations and reliability improvement efforts
— Partner with Operations and Maintenance to prioritize work and reduce unplanned downtime
— Provide regular updates to leadership on equipment health and performance
— Contribute to capital planning and long-term improvement projects
— Help define outage and turnaround scopes and support execution
— Support change management for equipment and process modifications
— Assist with mechanical integrity efforts, inspections, and corrective action tracking
— Coordinate larger or more complex repairs with internal teams and external partners
— Participate in continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives
Qualifications
— BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or related field
— 3+ years of experience in a continuous manufacturing or process industry environment
— Experience in PSM-regulated facilities preferred
— Solid understanding of fixed, rotating, and electrical equipment
— Familiar with root cause analysis, failure investigations, and reliability concepts
— Strong communicator who works well with operations and maintenance teams
— Comfortable coaching, supporting, and influencing others
