Provides day-to-day leadership and overall guidance to the hourly production staff (Team Leaders, Operators, Specialists). Ensures high standards of safety and environmental performance while delivering against production cost, quality and schedule objectives.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Following is a list of primary duties and responsibilities which take up the majority of time on a daily basis. — Train, coach, and mentor shift Team Leaders to develop their skills and the skills of their teams.
— Lead development of safety and operations excellence culture among production staff.
— Lead day to day plant operations.
— Drive continuous improvements in safety, productivity, quality and cost.
— Involve teams in problem solving activities with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
— Organization and cleanliness of the plant areas.
— Serves as a role model for ensuring compliance with corporate policies.
Following is a list of duties and responsibilities which take up minor time on a daily basis, but must be accomplished along with the Primary Duties.
— Ensures compliance with all federal and state safety/environmental laws and regulations.
— Leads or participates in pre-start-up safety reviews.
— Troubleshooting and problem solving of process issues.
— Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and complete corrective actions to prevent repeat.
— Sufficient production staffing and scheduling including overtime.
— Works with staff to determine maintenance needs for production in a manner that is least disruptive to production.
— Coordination of equipment servicing.

— BS, or MS Chemical Engineering
— 15+ years of Chemical or polymer resin plant manufacturing experience, including operational roles
— Demonstrated experience working with teams in a Leadership role
— Demonstrated experience with requirements and use of PSM (OSHA 1910.119)
— Note: prefer some background experience in plant turnarounds and start-ups.
