Excellent opportunity to join a high performance chemical operation outside of Houston. The Production Leader will be responsible for the oversight of daily production operation to ensure the safe and efficient production of final products to agreed volumes and specifications, while ensuring conformity with SOP’s, SHE requirements, and Quality standards. Supervises 30 in the 24×7 chemical plant.
— Provides supervision and feedback to operators to ensure consistent and sustainable process performance.
— Develops and submits proposals for improvement of the process (equipment) into the Improve Plant work process. Works with IP as process expert to implement change / improvements.
— Participates in Self-Inspections, Risk Analyses, FMEA and RCA as needed. Participates in HAZOP/ Pre-Startup review teams/ MOC’s/ SOP reviews as required. Reviews results of Hazard review and compliance audits and other information developed under PSM standards.
— Monitors operating status of units (rates, quality, yields, solvents) and follows up on any deviations.
— Monitors and coordinates waste handling with outside vendors to ensure uninterrupted plant operation.
— Ensures team members are fully trained in all processes as needed
— Responsible for periodic evaluation of staff performance and development.
— Follows all SHE instructions and procedures to include ensuring awareness of and following all Life Saving Rules. Acts in such a way that safety awareness and accident prevention are considered in performing all tasks.
— Ensures Quality procedures, Management Directives and Quality improvement projects are supported and followed.
— Reports any quality deviations or non-conformances observed.
— Supports routine Quality talks/briefings with staff to raise Quality awareness.
— Backup for Technical Coordinator with regard to coordinating equipment availability for Maintenance. This includes scheduling equipment availability to coincide with planned maintenance schedules.
— BS Chemical Engineering degree with progressive Process/ Production Engineering expertise, preferably in batch, specialty chemical plants.
— 5 years experience in a site production environment, or similar process.
— Good knowledge of Utility processes ( steam, air, nitrogen, cooling water, refrigeration, etc.) and chemical unit operations.
— Knowledge of computer systems applications to site processes.
— Broad understanding of PSM, safety, hygiene and cGMP regulations.
— Knowledge of site procedures (SOP’s, Safety, Quality, Environment)
— Ability to work in a team environment and coordinate multiple resources
— Able to work in the USA without sponsorship, now or in the future.
