Plant Production Engineer* – Eastern Small Town, OK USA

In this smaller specialty chemical production facility of a multinational company, you will have a wide variety of production support responsibilities including technical and operational leadership for the operating areas within the plant. You will recommend and implement improvements and/or modifications in plant operations, equipment utilization and related matters. You will also provide a variety of engineering work in developing and implementing site and plant related capital projects, which may include, reviewing proposals of outside vendors regarding the purchase of new or modernization of existing production/processing equipment. This facility is in a small town (20k) in eastern Oklahoma, close to large lakes and the mountains of southeastern Oklahoma. 

Requirements:

—  Bachelors degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
—  3-5 years operations supervision and/or management experience; preferably in an Oil & Gas, Catalyst, or Chemical Manufacturing environment.
—  Technical writing skills.
—  Math and statistics skills.
—  Analytical skills. –
—  Problem solving skills.
—  Computer skills including but not limited to: Inventory Management System, Microsoft Suite, Outlook, ERP experience preferably Microsoft AX —  Experience in ISO-9001 a plus.
—  Professional Engineer certification not required, but a plus.

Job Duties:

—  Works in conjunction with Production Manager, Customer Service, Warehouse Manager and others to ensure all orders are processed in compliance with quality plans that include: order specifications, workbooks, quality plans, and final packaging specifications.
—  Develop a thorough working knowledge of the plant in order to run the day to day operations in the absence of the Production Manager.
—  Serve as the back-up for the Production Manager.
—  Must be leader in Plant Safety compliance and driving safe behavior within the operation.
––  Work very closely with Shift Supervisors and Operators on a daily basis, and oversees the technical troubleshooting within the Plant.
—  Works closely with R&D team to develop new products and to improve existing products.
—  Work in partnership with Production Manager to ensure Material Balances are completed and any issues or questions are answered and resolved.
—  Works with accounting team to finalize monthly utility usage.
—  Will be an author and/or, key contributor in written processes and procedures at the Plant. Some of these documents include, but are not limited to: Quality plans, Plant Operational Procedures, Production Workbooks and Laboratory Workbooks.
—  Work in partnership with the company management team on ERP implementation.
—  Works in partnership with Maintenance Manager by researching and diagnosing any recurring technical issues on Plant equipment.
—  Works with Production Manager and Maintenance Manager on scheduled maintenance outages, to prioritize work and any projects that are necessary for completion during the scheduled outages.
—  Has involvement with subcontractors that can include: writing the scope of work and managing the work that is being performed by the subcontractor.
—  Upon specific request, conducts specific studies/missions for the benefit of other company sites. Those studies may include international travel to other affiliated locations. Will also be required to attend company group technical meetings as needed; that attendance may require international travel as well.
—  Involved in training process for newly hired Operators; will also train Shift Supervisors and A Operators on new technical processes and procedures as necessary.
—  Participate in customer site visits, as requested by the Sales team to solve customer issues, or discuss technical issues. —  
Indirect supervisory responsibility for managing any interns, as well as any subcontractors on site.

 
 

Salary: $90,000.00 – $100,000.00
