Would you like to be a part of the plant leadership team. You would be responsible for directing the plant QA system and establishing an effective Quality Management System (QMS), championing continuous improvement efforts and defect reduction initiatives with your team. Initiate and implement quality improvement activities to raise the performance of the unit’s product lines, educate and train employees, and provide strategic direction and leadership for quality systems implementation for the facility.
— Perform RCA and other problem solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements. Investigate and direct the response to customer and consumer complaints.
— Coordinate the PPM metric for reducing credits as a percentage of sales.
— Ensure the implementation of Quality Assurance systems to ensure that WIP and finished goods specifications are met and that product shipped to customers is within specification. Coordinate ongoing activities to ensure that specifications represent fitness-for-use and are sufficient to ensure customer satisfaction.
— Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in process / product development projects representing quality assurance and the customer.
— Develop, implement and document standard operating procedures and conditions for process control, process improvement, testing, inspection and positive release practices.
— Establish and implement metrics (process capability, control charts, measurement quality) for monitoring system.
— Analyze customers’ product specifications to establish efficient, cost-effective requirements for ease of manufacture and reproducibility.
— Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality control and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
— Direct the QA laboratory function to assure that the laboratories facility is using current standardized methods, procedures and practices. Direct all efforts to audit and test the laboratory for accuracy, and compliance to corporate standards.
— Direct start-up of audits and implementation of established institutional quality programs to assure the consistent effectiveness of programs – such as platform Quality Management Systems (ISO 9000),
— Drive and implement the quality key elements (quality roadmap).
— Roll-out Quality training programs to all plant employees.
— Work closely with process engineering and operations/production employees on the plant floor as well as sales, marketing and customers as necessary to confer on quality issues and review improvement opportunities.
— B.S. Engineering or Quality
— 5+ years experience in QA systems implementation and management in a medium size manufacturing environment
— Strong background in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt preferred)
— Customer insight and focus.
— In depth knowledge of Quality Systems and implementation
— Strong leadership skills with the ability to facilitate and influence direction
— Ability to motivate teams and lead change at all levels of the organization
— Strong facilitation and presentation skills
— Able to work legally in the US without sponsorship, now or in the future
