Join the global chemical team, with strategic responsibility as the Corporate EHS Manager supporting multiple North American chemical manufacturing sites and the EHS site teams. This individual will provide leadership, strategic guidance, technical expertise and support on EHS operational regulations and compliance. This role will guide continuous improvement of EHS programs and initiatives in the NA region to maintain core values around safety, health, environment and ethics.
— Provide direct oversight to the EHS site teams and work with site leaders to develop and train EHS personnel
— Develop a coordinated regional team to align & harmonize the safety culture.
— Lead site risk assessments and oversee the implementation of mitigation measures
— Monitor & track the corporate EHS and site internal EHS audit process – ensuring that all audits are completed and properly documented
— Conduct site audits to ensure compliance with OSHA rules & regulations and ensure all NA sites are also compliant with EHS standards & procedures
— Analyze EHS data trends and advise leadership on the appropriate recommendations to prevent new or recurring accidents
— Coordinate the PSM protocols for the region, ensuring appropriate reviews are conducted, documented and communicated
— Effectively lead incident investigations, ensure proper classification and drive the implementation of corrective actions
— Develop and implement work processes to address evolving safety programs focused on prevention of Injuries
— Resolve complex compliance matters using the required data, metrics, resources and management systems
— Oversee the sites Responsible Care Management System; support internal audits and develop compliance plans
— Create a Monthly Safety Report that communicates safety performance metrics and safety program messaging
— Assist sites with reports and permits for compliance
- BS / MS in Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering, with minimum of 7 to 10+ years experience in EHS management, multimedia environmental programs and safety, in a global chemical organization.
- Managerial experience in chemical business and working knowledge of six sigma preferred.
- Must have a strong background in and working knowledge of US Environmental regulations including Title V, MACT compliance, preparation of all EPA required compliance reports, air permitting, OSHA regulations, PSM, cost management and a proven track record of effective interaction with regulatory agencies.
